Transition

Here are some videos from your new teachers.

If you are currently in Holly Class you will be in Beech Class and your teachers will be Mrs Braund and Mrs Kent. If you are currently in Silver-Birch you will be in Larch Class and you teacher will be Miss Willson.

Message

To Silver Birch Class

It seems so long ago that we were in class together! We may only have had a short time together but in that time we made some wonderful memories. The Dunster trip, our Dragon topic and the Stone Age were amazing. These topics were amazing because of all the hard work you put into them and your fantastic learning!

By now you will know that I am changing roles next year and will no longer be a class teacher. Instead I will be an HLTA. This means that we may have the opportunity to work together again. It also means that you are my very last class which makes you incredibly special.

I am incredibly proud of you all and I know that when I see you again in September it will be with a smile. Remember you are Silver Bs and will always be Silver Bs in my eyes.

Have a fantastic summer and I look forward to seeing you around the school in September.

Miss Bell

USEFUL INFORMATION

You should have received a text message with login details for Class Dojo.

Thank you for those of you who have already shared your work.

Here's a reminder of some of the websites and ideas you could be using!

PARENTS AND CARERS

The NSPCC has given advice for parents and carers when talking to a child that is worried about coronavirus (COVID-19).

Click on the image below and it will take you directly to the advice.

One-to-one learning is very different to whole class teaching and group work. It is a lot more intense so you will not have to spend as much of your day completing focused learning tasks.

Have Fun, talk, play games, help your children understand a little on what is going on (Newsround is great for this). Be practical, make things, bake things, tell them about when you were younger. A happy child will learn.

  • Also, being in the garden and growing plants or looking for wildlife...it is science!
  • Baking in the kitchen....it is maths!
  • Learning about different countries, our local environment...it is geography!
  • Using technology...it is computing!
  • Building something with boxes...it is DT!
  • Writing instructions for designs...it is English!

You don't have to be sitting at the kitchen table every day.

Please use your home learning packs to support your learning at home. We will also update this page with other learning and lessons you can complete at home.

ENGLISH

READING!

There is no doubt that if there was one thing you could do at home that would make a difference, then reading would be it! Check out these amazing 'free' websites where you can access lots of books! ENJOY!

Big Cat Books Online

Collins have given free access to their reading books online. They will be good for practising reading skills but can also be interactive too so your child can hear the words being read. You can access books linked to the same band colour they are in now or have a go at a higher band if you feel they are ready.

Please have a look and let us know what you think on either Class Dojo or our cohort email.

Click on the link opposite and use the login details provided.

You can also access some free music lessons too!
