30 Days Wild
30 DAYS WILD IS HERE!
🙌🦔🌻🦆😊🌞ðŸ¸ðŸ¦‹
Download the Random Acts of Wildness cards and decide what your first Random Act of Wildness will be? Will it be…
· Walking barefoot on the grass? It’s a great opportunity to focus on sensation and how it makes them feel...
· Getting up close to some critters? Download our minibeast spotter sheet and set a competition to see who can spot the highest number of different insects.
· Writing poetry outdoors? Get those creative juices flowing by encouraging your class to head outdoors and take inspiration from nature. Maybe you’re all giving haiku a go? Or let the children experiment with whatever style of poetry they like best! Older children might find this guide to nature writing useful.

Note to Parents and Carers
Dear Parents and Carers of Year 5
One-to-one learning is very different to whole class teaching and group work. It is a lot more intense so you will not have to spend as much of your day completing focused learning tasks.
Have Fun, talk, play games, help your children understand a little on what is going on (Newsround is great for this). Be practical, make things, bake things, tell them about when you were younger. A happy child will learn.
- Also, being in the garden and growing plants or looking for wildlife...it is science!
- Baking in the kitchen....it is maths!
- Learning about different countries, our local environment...it is geography!
- Using technology...it is computing!
- Building something with boxes...it is DT!
- Writing instructions for designs...it is English!
You don't have to be sitting at the kitchen table every day.
Please use your home learning packs to support your learning at home. We will also update this page with other learning and lessons you can complete at home.
Here is an overview of home-learning you can complete.
Try the 'Daily Mix Up' or the 'Daily 3'
Please also see below regularly as subjects will be updated with new links.
Have a go at some of the Daily Mix Up questions. Please don't worry if you can't do some of them.
Daily 3 activities can be found on Unique Classrooms Daily 3. The 3 daily activities consist of an English, Maths and Creative task (see below for examples). Have fun!

Inspirational authors

She’ll reveal a variety of exciting and unusual objects and show children just how easy it is to find magic in their everyday lives. Click on the image below to hear from Abi Elphinstone.
Jim Smith, creator of the hilarious Barry Loser series, won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2013 for I am still not a loser, his second book in the series, each of which is packed full of silly humour, quirky plots and doodles. Despite his name, Barry Loser could be a cool kid except that he has some deadly enemies such as Darren Darrenofski who makes his life a misery. How can Barry ever be really cool? And does it matter as much as he thinks? Jim Smith introduces his stories with lots of humour and some live draw- a-longs.
