Curriculum Overview

Homework

The children are expected and strongly encouraged to complete the following homework:

Reading

Read for at least 20 minutes at home 5 times a week and ask an adult to sign their reading record. Children are awarded reading points for reading at home and at the end of each half term these are counted up and reading prizes are given out to the top readers!

Spellings

Children will be given weekly or termly spellings that they will be learning and practising at school and will be encouraged to practise these at home to further embed this learning. The children could take part in the below fun activities to help them learn these words. The words for this half term are also below.

Times tables/fluency

Children are expected to login to Times Tables rockstars (https://ttrockstars.com/) weekly to practice their times tables and division facts. Children will then be tested on these in school alongside the 55 Club where children practice their number facts. The children’s logins and passwords for Times Tables Rockstars are in their reading records. National expectations are that children are secure in their times tables up to 12x12 by the end of year 4.
