Recently in Cedar Class...

Musical Theatre - The Greatest Showman

We were lucky enough to have a fabulous day of musical theatre with the very talented West End professional Lauren Ingram. The aim of the day was to learn the song The Greatest Showman and create a dance routine to perform alongside it. We presented the finished product to our parents and carers at the end of the day.We had a very enjoyable, fast paced day. We were very proud of the end result!

Sports Day

Sponsored Danceathon

During our Health and Fitness creativity week Year 4 participated in a sponsored danceathon to raise money for our enterprise project. We all had great fun and even did it in our pyjamas to raise money for the Book Trust.

STEM challenge

We have been writing explanations in our English. Therefore we decided to combine our English lesson into a STEM challenge. We had to design, test, create and evaluate a paper airplane using a range of different materials and then write an explanation of how it flies.

Pinkery - Year 4 residential

In Cedar Class we went to Pinkery on our Year 4 residential trip for 2 nights. We participated in a range of activities including team building, archery, geology, survival skills, orienteering and many more. We all got very muddy and had a brilliant time. Here are some photos:


Maths - Fractions

In Maths Cedar Class have been looking at fractions. We have had lots of fun playing games to learn our equivalent fractions.

New Zealand Haka Workshop

FAB Friday Art - shadow puppet show - Generating ideas, presenting plans and creating our props.

Forest school - Recognising and Identifying trees and birds.

Viking Day - Learning all about weapons and protecting yourself, researching to find out information and designing and creating out own shields

Christmas jumper day and celebrating our excellent attendance this term.

Creativity Week - Apple Day! We used pastels to do observational drawings of the various varieties of apples we had brought in.

Recreating a story through drama.

Recreating the story of Little Red Riding Hood through drama. We used drama to retell the story of The Good Samaritan.

We used recycled materials to create scenery for Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

We used wires, a bulb, a bulb holder and a battery and tried to make a circuit to make the light bulb light.
